To make a site visit within the New Forest and Southampton area to discuss a project or to provide a no-obligation quote, there is no charge. However, any site visit which requires the tool bag coming out of the van, applying my knowledge and experience to undertake fault finding, repairs or installation work will be charged at the rates below.

Where no quotation or price has been agreed beforehand for work, or where fault finding is required, the following hourly/part hourly rates apply.

-

Weekdays First Hour - £80

Work scheduled during the weekday hours of 8am - 4pm will be based on this rate for the first hour or part hour unless a fixed price has been quoted beforehand. Materials costs are not included.

Weekdays subsequent hours - £50

After the first hour, the rate for subsequent hours/part hours drops for work, again, unless a fixed price has been provided beforehand. Where travel time is over 30 mins from Hythe, an additional hours labour will be added to the invoice at this rate unless a fixed price has been agreed beforehand. Material costs are not included.

Escalated any hour - £70

Where any work has to be scheduled at short notice - for example, to fit in around other trades, available access, or where changes or my existing schedule are required - this pricing is based on an hourly rate. Materials costs are not included.

Emergency any hour - £150

*Subject to availability* Emergency hourly/part hourly charge applies whenever a quick response is required regardless of the time of day or week. Materials costs are not included.

Day rate - £350

For recurring works, general maintenance and works that results in a full days work, a discounted full day rate applies. This is based upon 7.5 hours of labour. Actual time on site may be longer to allow for time to load and unload tools, tidying and getting setup. Day rates will normally, but not always be used in quotations. Materials costs are not included.

Waste removal - £30+

It is assumed that waste produced from works will be disposed of by the client, however where the client has no means to do so, there will be a waste removal charge due for me to do so. Cardboard and other recyclables that can go in the green bin will still be left on site and the responsibility of the client, but other waste will be taken away with prior arrangement. I am a registered waste carrier and can provide a copy of my certificate upon request. Cost is dependant on the amount of waste produced during works.
For example : 1) changing a number of downlights for new fittings, old fittings to be taken away. - £30.
2) rewire of a property. Lots of chasing of walls. Ripping out of old wiring. Hippo MidiBag or similar will be need to be purchased for disposal of a large amount of waste. - £180+

Prices are based on man hours of myself attending any call-out. The final invoice will break down into the rates shown above. Travel time is not charged for within 30 minutes of Hythe, Southampton. An additional hours labour will be charged outside this travel time

Rates are subject to change without notice. Always check this page for the current rate when booking new work.

“Subsequent hours” rate refers to additional hours performed for work under a particular job reference number. If other work is subsequently booked which is unrelated to the original works, then the initial hour rate will again apply to that new job.

Where quotations/estimates have been sent, depending on the works required, I have 2 of the following payment terms.

  1. Once they have been accepted, the total amount of materials cost will be invoiced and payable before you can be booked in. The balance of labour will be invoiced upon completion of works.

  2. For projects such as rewires or extensions, where the initial outlay for materials is lower, staged payments will apply.

    1. Stage 1 : a deposit payment is required to book work in the diary and confirm acceptance of quotation/estimate - between 20-30% of total estimated cost.

    2. Stage 2 : completion of 1st fix - 30-40% of total estimated cost.

    3. Stage 3 : completion of 2nd fix - Remaining total % of estimated works.

For works under £150 a deposit is not required.

There is no VAT to add to the rates shown above.

Please note : work carried out through EVR Ltd will be subject to a different pricing structure and VAT where applicable.
